Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including long-term care facilities and home community care. As a Resident Assistant, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for patients by assisting with daily activities and ensuring their comfort and safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
- Help patients with mobility needs, including lifting and transferring them safely.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using electronic health record systems such PointClickCare
- Collaborate with nursing staff to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including long-term care and teaching hospitals.
- Support patients emotionally by providing companionship and engaging in conversation.
- Follow infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Requirements
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience in caregiving is preferred.
- Experience in long-term care or home community care settings is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medical records management and electronic health record systems (Epic, eClinicalWorks) is a plus.
- Ability to lift patients safely and assist with mobility needs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a healthcare team.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Prior experience in pediatric intensive care units (PICU) is advantageous but not required.
