Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our healthcare team in a senior living community offering Assisted Living and Memory Care services. In this role, you will provide hands-on care and support to residents, assisting with activities of daily living while promoting dignity, independence, and quality of life.
As a key member of the care team, you will help create a warm, safe, and engaging environment for residents, including those living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Your compassion, attentiveness, and teamwork will play a vital role in ensuring residents receive personalized care that meets their physical, emotional, and social needs.

Duties
- Provide direct care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, dining, and mobility.
- Support residents in maintaining independence and dignity while ensuring safety and comfort.
- Assist residents with transfers and mobility using proper body mechanics and equipment such as gait belts or mechanical lifts when needed.
- Observe residents for changes in physical, emotional, or cognitive condition and promptly report concerns to the nursing team.
- Document care and observations accurately in the community’s electronic health record system.
- Provide compassionate care and engagement for residents in Memory Care, including those living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia.
- Utilize person-centered dementia care approaches to redirect behaviors, reduce anxiety, and support residents experiencing cognitive impairment.
- Assist with structured activities, social engagement, and daily routines designed to enhance quality of life for memory care residents.
- Support medication administration under the supervision of licensed nursing staff in accordance with community policies and state regulations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment by following infection control and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with nurses, caregivers, life enrichment staff, dining services, and other departments to ensure coordinated resident care.
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing with the state.
- Previous experience in Assisted Living, Memory Care, long-term care, or senior living communities preferred.
- Experience working with residents living with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or cognitive impairments strongly preferred.
- Ability to assist residents with mobility, transfers, and physically demanding tasks safely.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with residents, families, and team members.
- Compassionate, patient, and service-oriented approach to caregiving.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment while maintaining resident confidentiality and dignity.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and resident safety protocols preferred.
